It only took 80 years to get here…

It only took 80 years to get here…

There it is. The magic phrase.

“It is believed that Bowers acted alone.”

Found it here, on Pittsburgh’s CBS Local website:

11 Dead, Several Others Shot At Pittsburgh Synagogue

So, lone wolf narrative is it? Continue reading “It only took 80 years to get here…”

A possible view of the future, thanks to the past…

A possible view of the future, thanks to the past…

Let’s start with the obvious: There is no question in my mind that Trump is at the top of the chain of indictments Mueller is building in his ongoing investigation.

There. Now that’s out of the way, here’s something to ponder, while you’re popping that popcorn awaiting the next big thing in Reality White House.

The following is going to appear as a massive digression, but it’s vitally important to understand this portion of European history to put today’s events in context, so bear with me while I share a brief history lesson with you. Continue reading “A possible view of the future, thanks to the past…”

Fascism Denial…

Fascism Denial…

Decades from now, will we remember all the warnings? Will we even be able to find the evidence that was there?

In the last few days, since the start of the 115th Congress, there have been reports all over the internet of rules changed to favor the GOP, to give them the power to strip away protections that keep our citizens healthy and safe.

None of these steps are new. Not one. Continue reading “Fascism Denial…”

Storm’s here (Part Two)…

Storm’s here (Part Two)…

And from here on out, I’m live on Facebook, and will post updates below.

I’m devoting all my time right now to updating my spreadsheet.

When I’ve finished, I’ll post my results to 270towin.com, but there’s no point in putting the link up now.

ETA: 1:43am EST – http://www.270towin.com/maps/36n0N (My best guess as of this moment.)

And for the record, yes, Jill Stein did have an effect. She cost us Pennsylvania, if it comes down to the wire in that state.

We’ve seen this before…

We’ve seen this before…

Don't forget to hate refugees when you set up a nativity scene that celebrates a couple of Middle Eastern Jews desperately seeking shelter.

A little context is necessary here.

Back in the very early 1990s, I had a conversation with my grandmother who lived in Miami Beach, about the influx of Haitian refugees (Boat People). She blamed the entire situation for forcing her out of her home in Brooklyn (because it’s so much easier to blame people for trying to make their lives better) and she told me about the ship the US turned away during the war, as if that justified her racist remarks. Connecting the Dots, Part 5…

Connecting the Dots, Part 5…

I’ve been chewing on what to write, post convention(s), for a while now. This is WAY long, and there are lots of links, many of which have OTHER links, so it could take a long time to get through. You could just skip to the end, but you’ll miss all the supporting material if you do.

Ready? Here we go… Continue reading “Connecting the Dots, Part 5…”
